Labradorite gets its name because Labrador, Canada is the
main source for this stone. Labrodite is iridescent with metallic
sheens of gold, blue, gray, green reflecting back the light.
Most commonly found as a dull gray-black stone, it attains
its only charm from a superficial play of colors known as
labradorescence. This play of light actually comes from internal
fractures in the stone. You can see different colors from
different angles or a range of colors all visible at the same
time.
Labradorite is supposed to bring you good luck and fortune
when worn around the neck.
